The influence of soil texture and environmental conditions on frozen soil infiltration: A numerical investigation

چکیده
Frozen soil increases overland flow and flood risk, but the question remains under which conditions frozen significantly impedes infiltration. In this study, we simulated infiltration into with a numerical model to investigate theoretical controls on for several types. We found that capacities of soils intermediate texture are most affected by freezing. Furthermore, examined influence initial saturation, boundary temperature water input rate non-linear relationships Freezing infiltrated particularly impeded Two different temporal regimes were detected. This study could help identify situations in impact freezing catchment hydrology is expected be large. It also provides starting point further experimental work.

متن کاملFall Contour Ripping Increases Water Infiltration into Frozen Soil
Crop residue management to trap snow and soil management to improve water infiltration into frozen soil might reduce spring runoff and increase soil water storage. We hypothesized that soil macropores created by tillage would improve water infiltration when the soil was frozen. This hypothesis was tested by ripping a Dooley sandy loam (fine-loamy, mixed Typic Argiboroll) in the fall of the year...

The adsorption study was conducted on three Japanese soils with different soil properties to characterize the adsorption pattern of Arsenic (As). Double tube method was used to find out the effect of soil moisture levels on As adsorption. For this study, besides double tube method, conventional batch method also was used. The As adsorption showed two phase kinetics. An initial and rapid adsorpt...
